Lucy enjoys directing plays with dense texts, whether Shakespeare or New Writing, and she has experience of commissioning and premiering new writers’ work.

Directorial Approach

She loves working collaboratively with ensembles, be they four or 24 performers, working closely with actors, designers, lighting designers and venue staff to create the work. She believes happy companies are the most productive.

Lucy’s ethos is that a director should be led by the play and the writer’s intentions – “The Play’s The Thing...” – meaning each production is unique.
